Sharia Police in Kano begins prosecution of 11 women for drinking alcohol, smoking and 'romancing' men that aren't their husbands



The Faggae Outpost of the Kano State Hisbah Board (Sharia Police) on Monday, said it has began the prosecution of  11 women who were found drinking, smoking and romancing with men who are not their husbands, vices which are contrary to the Sharia legal system.

Hotelier arrested for enlisting young girls into prostitution

Lagos State Police command has arrested a 33-year-old Victor Obano an hotelier for allegedly compelling young girls to work as prostitutes in his hotel. The suspect, it was learnt travels to places like Calabar, Akwa-Ibom, Edo State and some other states to lure young girls into the ‘dirty’ job
It was revealed that Obano modus operandi promises his target a lucrative job. However, on arrival in Lagos, the girls are forced into prostitution.
Detectives, who stormed the brothel at Ijegun outskirts of Lagos, arrested some of the prostitutes.

Buhari President shocked over alleged rape of 43 female IDPs in Maiduguri President Buhari has ordered an investigation into the alleged rape of 43 IDPs by security personnel in the camps.

While giving her speech at Benisheirk, Kaga Local Government of Borno state, where she went to flag-off the distribution of food and other nutrients to returning IDPs, she said she is after the success of her husband fulfilling campaign promises to Nigerians, which has already started.

A second powerful aftershock rattles Italy after 5.4 temblor




ROME (AP) -- A pair of powerful aftershocks shook central Italy on Wednesday, knocking out power, closing a major highway and sending panicked residents into the rain-drenched streets just two months after a powerful earthquake killed nearly 300 people.
The first quake carried a magnitude of 5.4, but the second one was even stronger, with a preliminary magnitude of 6.1 according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences. The U.S. Geological survey put the magnitude at 6.0 and said the epicenter was in Visso, where buildings crumbled into the street.
