Alabama Missing Alabama boy, 2, found dead in pool

The body of a missing two-year-old boy has been found in east Birmingham, police confirm.
Marquavis Threat was last seen after midnight during a wedding reception with about 50-70 people in the 5600 block of Crestwood Boulevard. His body was found in a swimming pool at the location.
Officers and other authorities initially searched the pool and the surrounding area, but it did not appear that he was in the pool, according to Lt. Sean Edwards with the Birmingham Police Department.

Indian girl detained in Sri Lanka for Buddha image on dress

Sri Lanka police on Monday detained and questioned an Indian tourist who was wearing a dress with a print of the Buddha on it, The Hindu reported.

Wearing the image of the Buddha remains a sensitive matter in the island where a majority practise Buddhism. In 2014, a British tourist was deported for sporting a tattoo of the Buddha on her arm.
The 26-year-old tourist was on the island on a family holiday at a resort near Bentota, along the southern coast of Sri Lanka. Before the group’s departure from Colombo on Monday, some of them were shopping at an upmarket mall in the capital.

42 Anti-malaria Drugs Banned In Europe Are Being Consumed In Nigeria-Senate Alleges

The Senate has raised alarm on the alleged circulation of 42 anti-malaria drugs that have been banned in Europe but are being administered and sold to Nigerians in some hospitals and pharmacies. During plenary yesterday, the senate ordered its committee on Health (Secondary and Tertiary), led by Senator Olarewaju Tejuoso, to urgently carry out an indepth investigation into the allegation and report back for further action. The Senate resolution came after a motion by Senator Theodore Orji, was read on the floor of the house.

Group Files Lawsuit Against FEC, Insist They Must Declare President Buhari Unfit

A  civil society group known as the Kingdom Human Rights Foundation International, has filed a lawsuit against members of the Federal Executive Council, asking the court to compel the FEC members to declare ailing President Muhammadu Buhari unfit to continue to hold office and another order that will mandate the National Assembly to constitute a medical panel to ascertain his fitness.
In the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/671/2017, the group named Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, the Executive Council of the Federation (otherwise known as the Federal Executive Council), the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), and the National Assembly as respondents.



Investigators are asking for the public's help locating 22-year-old Trevien Thomas -- also known as "Triggah" -- for allegedly kidnapping a girl from Dallas and forcing her to have sex with strangers in Houston.

Houston Police Officer Adam Bock said he worked for months to identify Thomas.

"He's a documented gang member of the Rolling '60s Crips gang," Bock said.

Court documents detail the serious charges against Thomas, including "trafficking of persons" and child abduction.

Gas tanker crash shuts down NB 5 Fwy in downtown LA

A fuel-tanker crash on the 5 Freeway shut down all northbound lanes in downtown Los Angeles and backed up traffic for hours.

The crash was reported around 9:30 p.m on the 5 just north of the 10 Freeway interchange.

An Arco tanker jumped the center divider and crashed into a car, fire officials said. One person was given a medical evaluation at the scene, but did not require hospitalization.

No fuel from the tanker spilled.

Drug deals: A Man killed 4 after feeling cheated.

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. -- A drug dealer has confessed to killing four young Pennsylvania men after he felt cheated or threatened during three drug transactions and then burned their bodies at his family's farm in suburban Philadelphia, a person with firsthand knowledge of his confession said.
The person spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity on Thursday because he was not authorized to publicly discuss details of the case against 20-year-old Cosmo DiNardo.
"Every death was related to a purported drug transaction, and at the end of each one there's a killing,"
the person said.

Gruesome details emerge as 2nd person charged in Pa. killings

Two 20-year-olds were charged Friday with multiple counts of homicide in the killings of four young men who went missing last week in Bucks County.
Cosmo Dinardo, 20, of Bensalem, was charged in all four killings , according to court records. Sean Michael Kratz, 20, of Northeast Philadelphia, was charged in three of the homicides, authorities said.
The Bucks County District Attorney's Office released details of the killings Friday afternoon. All of the victims have been positively identified, said District Attorney Matthew Weintraub.

The 11-year-old Keansburg girl found slain Thursday was stabbed to death, prosecutors said Friday.
Andreas Erazo, 18, who is accused of killing AbbieGail "Abbie" Smith, 11, was arrested on murder and weapons charges hours after the little girl's body was found in a rear area of the apartment complex where they both lived. He appeared in Superior Court Friday afternoon and was ordered to remain in jail until a detention hearing on Wednesday.
At the end of the brief court hearing, attended by nearly two dozen of AbbieGail's relatives and family friends, her mother jumped up from her seat and yelled at Erazo as he was being led away in handcuffs.

He was stopped by officers at London City Airport under schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000 on Thursday, July 13, 2017 and he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of preparation of acts to commit terrorism, under section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

Former Leflore High School football star 22-year-old Corey Lee has turned himself into authorities in Mobile on first-degree robbery charges.
The Mobile Police Department identified Lee as the suspect in two separate robberies in Mobile that took place in May and June.

Jasper woman dies in three-vehicle wreck in Cullman County

A Jasper woman died during a three-vehicle wreck Thursday in Cullman County, Alabama State Troopers said.
Cynthia Renae West, 43, was killed when the 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier she was driving collided with a 2004 Pontiac Vibe and a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado on Alabama 69 at 5:19 p.m. West was pronounced dead at the scene, which is located one mile south of Bremen.
Additional details about the accident were not released because the wreck is still under investigation.

Anti-Human Trafficking Bills Unanimously Passed by US House

The United States House of Representatives has unanimously passed proposed legislation aimed at combating human trafficking.
Three bills were passed. One is known as the Frederick Douglass Trafficking Victims Prevention and Protection Reauthorization Act, which the House passed by voice vote on Wednesday.
Introduced in April by Representative Chris Smith of New Jersey, the bill provides approximately $500 million for federal government programs meant to battle human trafficking.

A 19-year-old California woman has struck gold after winning the state lottery twice in a week.
Rosa Dominguez won $655,555 (£508,000) from a pair of $5 scratch cards bought from two different gas stations over the course of a few days.
"I was so nervous I just wanted to cry," Ms Dominguez told the California Lottery.
The California Lottery said she told the organisation she plans to use the money to go shopping and buy a new car.
Ms Dominguez was driving back from Arizona when she bought a Power 5 ticket at a gas station in San Luis Obispo County and won the top prize of $555,555.
A few days later, Ms Dominguez tried her luck again on a $5 scratch-off ticket at a gas station in Monterey County and scooped $100,000.
The Lottery did not say when the tickets were purchased.

Former North Miami police chief sues to get his job back

Former North Miami Police Chief Gary Eugene, who was initially suspended, then fired last Friday, has filed a federal lawsuit against the city, the city manager and a City Council member seeking to get his job back.
Eugene’s lawsuit says the city violated due process by forcing him to resign, and later be fired, without giving a clear reason and without allowing him a chance to make a case before the city. He is seeking a jury trial, unspecified financial damages and reinstatement.

Blac Chyna's lawyer is headed to court to muzzle Rob Kardashian and keep him clear of her. Chyna's hired Lisa Bloom -- who recently took the mic with Kathy Griffin over the Trump head thing -- who tweeted she's put Rob on notice she will be in court Monday for a restraining order ... presumably to keep him at least 100 yards clear of her and, more importantly, to stop posting pics of Chyna's vagina.
As you know, Rob has been on a rampage, posting intimate pics of Chyna. These restraining orders typically prohibit the wrongdoer from harassing or annoying the victim. The penalty for violating such an order is contempt of court and, possibly, jail. Stay tuned.

SACRAMENTO >> The wife of a former California attorney general and state treasurer was free on bail after she was arrested following a domestic dispute, authorities said Friday.
Nadia Lockyer, 46, was released on $5,000 bail Thursday night after her arrest on suspicion of spousal abuse.
Nadia and Bill Lockyer, 76, were married in 2003, a union that often made headlines over reports of her substance abuse and other concerns. She also is a former public official, having served as an Alameda County supervisor.
