Photos: South African police officer kills his girlfriend & then commits suicide

A young female constable was brutally murdered by her lover, also a police officer at KwaDabeka Police Station in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa on Tuesday 29 August.
Nontuthuko Mthembu, who started working as a police officer last year, was allegedly shot and killed by her boyfriend before he turned the gun on himself.
According to KwaDabeka police spokesperson Captain Mazwi Mbatha, the man who is based at the Inanda Cluster was in one of the offices with Mthembu at the KwaDabeka police station when they heard her screaming for help and asking for forgiveness.
“We then heard about four gunshots and rushed into the office, and unfortunately they were declared dead on scene,” said Mbatha.

A woman, who said she was stranded "for five days" in the Hurricane Harvey devastation, broke down and lashed out at a CNN reporter for interviewing her on live TV.
The mother, introduced as Danielle, said she waited for police to come rescue them but when they did not arrive after 36 hours, she walked through "four feet of water" with her two young children to make it to a gas station and then to a shelter, just to get food.

The death toll from the flood and mudslide disaster that struck Sierra Leone’s capital in mid-August now exceeds 500 and 810 people are listed as missing, the government said Thursday.

Hundreds confess to eating human flesh

Pietermaritzburg - A community meeting following the arrest of four Estcourt men for allegedly killing a person and eating human flesh saw hundreds of residents allegedly confess to having eaten human body parts procured from one of the accused.

The four men, Nino Mbatha (32), Sthembiso Sithole (31), Lindokuhle Masondo (32) and Lungisani Magubane (30), appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of murder and conspiracy.

Police officers shot an unarmed black man in Troy, New York on Tuesday evening and the disturbing event was caught on camera.
According to witnesses, 22-year-old Dahmeek McDonald was shot twice in the head while in his car by a Troy police officer. Police denied that he was shot in his head and claimed he was shot twice in the torso, then they later changed it and said he was shot once in the shoulder and grazed once on the head.

The Washington Post editorial board has written a scathing piece about President Donald Trump's response to the weekend's violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Trump appeared at a press conference yesterday where, rather than condemn the white supremacists for their violent actions, he blamed "both sides" for being responsible for the violent protest.
"You had a group on one side that was bad, and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent, and nobody wants to say that, but I'll say it right now," Trump told reporters at a press availability Tuesday in New York City.

Pastor arrested for defiling two teenagers in Delta

The Police in Delta State have arrested a 29-year-old pastor for allegedly defiling two teenage girls and children of his co-pastor.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Zanna Ibrahim, disclosed the development on Tuesday saying the cleric was arrested in Obiaruku, Ukwuani Local Government Area of the state.
Ibrahim said the suspect identified as Cletus Metititri, a pastor with a new generational church (name withheld) was alleged to have defiled the girls, who are less than 16 years.

‘I’m okay’, says Buhari after three months’ absence
